November 13
Please join members and attendees at Issaquah Christian Church (ICC) on Sunday, November 13 to hear Jeff Lilley, President of Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, speak about the Mission and their "One Meal/One Hope program.
Seattle's Union Gospel Mission has been assisting men, women and children and those in greatest need in the Puget Sound area for 79 years! It all began with a group of local churches who wanted to meet the over whelming needs during the "Great Depression" in 1932. Since then, the Mission has expanded its programs to include men's shelters, a women's and children's shelter; drug and alcohol programs and help for health issues, dental and legal issues. They continue to distribute blankets, food and spiritual help for those living on the streets of Seattle several times a week.
Nine years ago, the Mission began a program with Issaquah Christian Church called "Feed the Hungry Challenge" which provided the funds to feed the homeless community on Thanksgiving Day and beyond. Today that program is called "One Meal/One Hope and the Mission receives assistance from several different churches besides ICC.
Jeff Lilley will speak at 10:30 AM at ICC's new facility located just one half mile south of the city at 10328
Issaquah-Hobart Rd SE. For more info call 425 392 5848.
