Providence Hospice of Seattle is looking for volunteers to serve their neighbors, providing support and a caring presence at a time of great emotional and physical need. The care and service that our volunteers provide for patients and their families support not only those individuals, but our communities at large. Our focus is on the patient and the family, assuring that quality, compassionate end-of-life care is provided for terminally ill children and adults, making it possible for them to live their final days free from pain, without fear and in the comforting circle of family and friends. We are a non-profit organization; the first and largest Hospice in the Pacific Northwest, providing care for terminally ill patients throughout King County.
We do not turn anyone away, regardless of their ability to pay. Volunteers are an integral and vital part of our services. Each patient care volunteer is trained to serve as a listening and caring presence for patients and their caregivers, helping with tasks in the home, transportation for medical appointments, or respite for exhausted caregivers. Deadline for application is June 30.
We are offering a special training in Kent for South and East King County residents that will take place on Wednesday, July 18, 5pm to 9pm, and Friday-Sunday, July 27, 28 and 29 from 9am to 6pm. This training is open only to those willing to serve in South and East King County.
